Why I decided to introduce exclusive content
I really love to write, and love to share my creations with you. But unfortunately, I hardly ever seem to have the time to do so. Sometimes I go months without putting poetic pixels on input-processing paper.
And that’s something I want changed. I no longer want the have-to-do’s get the better of the want-to-do’s. Therefore, I decided to make some alterations in my life, both in practice and in thought.
As of mid 2018 I started my own business. The focus of that business is writing and self-publishing. The idea is to gradually grow in monthly income with this, so that I can more and more phase out the other stuff. In a few years, and hopefully sooner, I want to fully live off my creative side.
But this means that I must attach some business sense to my artistic aspirations. And that’s where the exclusive content comes in.
About 50% of all posts will be available for members on Patreon only. This includes some of what I consider to be my best work, my larger poems, my bigger articles and my personal poems.
On the other hand, I will from now on not only share my philosophical and poetic products, but also write more about the behind scenes. For instance, I plan to make a “The Art of Writing Poetry” series, in which I share my journey of becoming a poet, spotlighting different aspects of the craft.
In addition, I intend to create books and eBook out of all the hundreds of verses and thousands of quotes I created over the years. Quotes will however remain freely available on social media, mostly to generate more traffic to this site.
A membership on Patreon also includes a free digital copy of each new book I publish. I plan to have one out in 2019 and one after that every 6 months or so, depending on my time available.
So, will you help me become a full-time writer and self-publisher by making a pledge on Patreon? That would be so great. Your support is truly appreciated. Thank you!
